Industrial Development in Chengalpattu

New Entrepreneur cum Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS)

The NEEDS scheme is aimed at assisting first-generation entrepreneurs by providing them with financial support, training, and guidance to establish new enterprises.

Eligibility:

Educated youth between the ages of 21 and 45 (up to 55 years for special categories such as SC/ST, BC, MBC, women, differently-abled, ex-servicemen, and transgender)​​.

Subsidy:

25% of the project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 75 lakhs.

35% for SC/ST and differently-abled beneficiaries, up to Rs. 75 lakhs​​.

Project Cost:

Between Rs. 10 lakhs and Rs. 5 crore for manufacturing or service enterprises.

Additional Benefits:

Training and financial assistance for project development​.

The UYEGP scheme provides financial assistance to unemployed youth from economically weaker sections of society, enabling them to become self-employed through small business ventures.

Eligibility:

Subsidy:

25% of the project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 75 lakhs.

Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

The PMEGP scheme, implemented by the Ministry of MSMEs, is designed to create employment opportunities in rural and urban areas through new micro-enterprises and small-scale industries.

Eligibility:

No minimum educational qualification required.

For projects exceeding Rs. 10 lakhs in manufacturing and Rs. 5 lakhs in service sectors, a minimum of 8th standard pass is required​​.

Subsidy:

25% in urban areas and 35% in rural areas for special categories (SC/ST, OBC, minorities, women, ex-servicemen, differently-abled, transgender)​.

Project Cost:

Manufacturing: Up to Rs. 50 lakhs.

Service: Up to Rs. 20 lakhs​​.

Annal Ambedkar Business Champions Scheme (AABCS)

The AABCS scheme aims to promote the economic development of SC/ST entrepreneurs by providing financial support for new and expanding enterprises.

Eligibility:

SC/ST individuals, partnership firms, or private limited companies with SC/ST shareholders.

Subsidy:

35% of the project cost, up to a maximum of Rs. 1.5 crore​.

Project Cost:

No upper limit for the project cost.
